As part of the international charitable project “Yurt of Invincibility,” a new Ukrainian–Kazakh humanitarian initiative titled “Kitchen of Friendship” has been launched.
After the end of winter — one of the most difficult in the history of independent Ukraine — volunteers from the Kazakh diaspora, together with Ukrainian partners, set off to border and frontline regions of the country. There they will prepare 15,000 servings of traditional Kazakh plov for local residents.
The initiative became possible thanks to the philanthropic support of the Kazakh company BI Group, which consistently supports humanitarian and charitable projects aimed at helping Ukrainians.
“Kitchen of Friendship” is not only a culinary initiative but also a symbol of solidarity and support between the peoples of Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
The project started on March 9 in Moryntsi, the birthplace of Taras Shevchenko, on the birthday of the great Ukrainian poet and thinker.
The opening of the initiative was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Ukraine, Tolezhan Barlybayev.
The figure of Taras Shevchenko serves as a symbolic bridge between the peoples of Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan became the place of exile for the poet, and today monuments to Shevchenko stand in the country, while streets, museums, and memorial complexes bear his name.
The final stage of the project will take place in Kyiv on March 21, during the celebration of one of the most important Kazakh holidays — Nauryz.
Nauryz symbolizes the renewal of nature, unity of people, and the end of winter, making it a particularly symbolic conclusion to the “Kitchen of Friendship” initiative.
